 Hannah’s 2026 Mountain-Inspired Lighting Design

At Eden Lighting, we believe that the most timeless designer lighting begins with a genuine moment of inspiration.

In the winter of 2025, our founder and chief designer Hannah spent a week on holiday in Queenstown, New Zealand—a destination renowned for its dramatic alpine scenery and natural beauty. During her stay, Hannah lived in an apartment that directly overlooked the Remarkables mountain range, offering uninterrupted views of one of New Zealand’s most iconic landscapes.

Every day, she was drawn to the powerful contrast in front of her:
the bright white snow-covered peaks at the top of the mountains, set against the deep, dark tones of the rock and shadows below. This striking light-and-dark contrast created a strong visual rhythm—minimal, bold, and deeply architectural.

That experience became the foundation for Hannah’s 2026 lighting collection.

Mountain Inspiration Transformed into Designer Lighting

Inspired by the Remarkables, Hannah began translating the essence of the mountains into a new mountain-inspired lighting design. Rather than copying nature directly, she focused on abstraction—capturing the geometry, layers, and contrast found in alpine landscapes and expressing them through form, proportion, and material.

Over several months of design development, sketching, and refinement, Hannah explored how modern pendant lights and sculptural lighting could reflect the quiet strength and timeless character of the mountains.

The outcome is two carefully designed lighting pieces, both rooted in the idea of landscape-driven design and created for contemporary interiors.

A Refined Alpine Design Language

These two new lights share a cohesive design language inspired by the mountains:

• Clean, architectural silhouettes that echo mountain ridgelines
• Contrasting finishes and tones, inspired by snow, stone, and shadow
• A balance between statement lighting and minimalist design, suitable for modern homes

Designed as designer pendant lights for dining rooms, stairwells, and living spaces, these fixtures bring a sculptural presence while maintaining warmth and functionality.

Contemporary Lighting Designed with Intention

As with all Eden Lighting collections, Hannah’s approach prioritises authentic inspiration, craftsmanship, and timeless design. This 2026 collection reflects her belief that the best modern lighting design is informed by real experiences and thoughtful observation of the natural world.

By drawing inspiration from Queenstown’s alpine landscape, Hannah has created lighting that feels both grounded and elevated—designed to complement contemporary interiors while telling a deeper design story.
